Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your Vako account and personal data at any time. Deletion is irreversible — once processed, your account cannot be restored.
1. Delete from inside the app
- Open Vako and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. Your account and data are removed immediately.
2. Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, email vakoappofficial@gmail.com from the address linked to your account, with the subject "Delete my Vako account" and your Vako username. We verify ownership and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually much sooner.
3. What gets deleted
- Your profile — display name, username, bio, avatar.
- Your authentication account, including Google sign-in link and password.
- Uploaded content — memes, meme packs, stories and captions.
- Comments and replies you posted.
- Reactions, laughs, saves and bookmarks.
- Follows, hood memberships and hood roles.
- Notifications, push subscriptions and notification preferences.
- Meme Power, achievements, streaks and leaderboard entries.
- Referral records tied to your account.
4. What is retained, and for how long
- Encrypted backups — residual copies may persist in routine system backups for up to 30 days before being overwritten.
- Security & fraud prevention — minimal records of confirmed abuse, fraud or ban enforcement (such as a hashed identifier) are kept for up to 12 months to stop repeat offenders.
- Legal obligations — records we must keep by law, or that relate to an open legal claim or investigation, are kept only for as long as the law requires.
- Anonymised statistics — aggregated counts that can no longer identify you may be retained indefinitely.
Content that others have re-shared outside Vako is outside our control and may remain on those third-party services.
